Constable → Head Constable: 6-10 साल बाद Departmental Exam होता है। Written Test + Physical + Interview/Record Assessment। सभी Forces का अपना Internal Exam होता है। Merit + Seniority दोनों Count होते हैं। ACR (Annual Confidential Report) अच्छा होना ज़रूरी है – Discipline, Performance, Attendance।
Head Constable → ASI: Departmental Exam (Limited Direct)। Written + Physical + Interview। Promotion पर Pay Level-4 से Level-5 में Jump।
ASI → SI: यह सबसे Important Promotion है। Departmental Limited Competitive Exam। बहुत कम Vacancies होती हैं – Competition कठिन। SI बनने पर अधिकार और Responsibility दोनों बढ़ जाती हैं। SI Post Leader Level है – Platoon/Section Command। Pay Level-5 से Level-6 में Jump – Salary में बड़ा अंतर।
